Surviving the Blizzard!!!

Wow!!!! What a snowstorm that literally BLEW in here over the weekend!!!! Last night about 9 pm I decided to go out and find then clear off my van.....I had a medical appointment this am so I needed the van out and ready to go....I took my friend's advice and just went out...turned on the engine....got the blowers working and the waited for about a half hour inside....Most of the snow cover just ended slipping off by the time I was toasty inside the van....Another thing that I did that surprised me was.....I was able to get to my driver's side while in my wheelchair.....I guess that my arms and shoulder have picked up a lot of strength so I got through whatever snow that I needed to.....I feel really proud that I accomplished what I did!!!! I'm hoping that we don't have another snowstorm come in over the coming weekend!!! PEACE TO ALL

Getting back!!!!........

WoW!!!!! It sure has been a long time since I made an entry!! Jennifer and Jared's wedding was just fantabulous!!!! Even though my knee was painful from the arthritis I put down my cane and had a dance with my son at the reception!!! I was bound and determined to have a dance with Jared on his wedding day.....Who says old ladies can't dance?? I've had the opportunity to see all the wedding photos from the photographer [all 731 of them] I'm supposed to pick one of Jared and Jennifer for an 11x14 print....I have it narrowed down to a choice from 8.....I haven't seen any of the other photos that were shot by others at the wedding.....I think the picture on Jennifer's blog of them kissing was really neat and I couldn't help but leave a somewhat humorous comment there!!!.....I will try to get back to this blog a lot sooner as sooooo much has happened....I'll have to make a few posts to catch up.....

Countdown.....

It's now only 10 days till my son's wedding.....I still have a few things to get done by then....I don't know who thinks that a wedding is only stressful for the bride's mother? I think that part of my anxiety is that the weekend of the wedding there's traveling down on Saturday....getting settled at the hotel then rehearsal dinner at 6 pm....When that's done there's the rehearsal....Then on Sunday there will be wedding pictures to be taken then the wedding itself at 3:30 pm followed by the reception....WHEW!!!!!! Then Monday morning ....traveling home.....Of course when I get back I'll have to deal with my cat's temper tantrum!!! Soooo if no one sees me for the rest of that week....This is why!! I haven't been that busy for quite a long time.....Hopefully I don't add any more gray hairs!!!! Of course....only my hairdresser [me!] knows for sure!!!!

Odd happenings.....

There must have been a full moon these past nine days.....Or I'm reliving a past life thrown into the fast forward phase of my future....My 53rd birthday was the 26th of August....My ex called and sang the first line of "Happy Birthday" to me then wished me a Happy Birthday [This all took place on my answering machine] My older brother and his wife sang "Happy Birthday" to me [also on my answering machine] My friend called and left me the "Happy Birthday" song she sang [also on my answering machine] If I remember correctly my father did the same sort of thing also..... The ol' answering machine is getting all partied out!! As if all this wasn't bizarre enough, my ex called Sunday and complimented me on the writing of my last post!!! WOWZA!!!!! I went totally berserk straightening up my living room like a banshee one evening til 6 am the next day...slept 3 and a half hours....Then I pushed myself 2 more hours.....It finally looks like something close to being fairly presentable.....Still more work to be done but I'm taking a few days break....and keeping my fingers crossed that I'll wake up and it will all be a dream that was influenced my the novel I read a few nights back....

A sad passing......

This past Thursday afternoon my new daughter, Jennifer, had to make the awful decision to put her cat, Dimitri, to sleep....I can only imagine how difficult and abrupt the decision was for her....as she has stated, he didn't die alone in the woods....I am also gratefull that my son and she were together that awful moment and that they have each other to grieve with....That's what Deep Love is all about......I am also deeply saddened that I won't be able to meet him as he was to be one of two new "grandkitties"...My eyes are presently tearing up.....I have my own special cat, Hayley.....She is just about my best friend....Her lungs are damaged by the drug fumes we were often subjected to at our last place of residence and she has wheezing spells.....When I realized that her nine lives would be shortened and not likely to last 20 human years as I was counting on....I was so distraught but had to let go of that fact and accept that the only time we needed to concern ourselves were the shared moments we have each day....She's approaching 11 years of age and I can't imagine what I'll do without her when the end time comes....I truly hope that I won't have to make the final decision but I know I'll always do whatever is best for her and that decision may very well come..... Dimitri, I know that you are well and happy in heaven....I wouldn't be surprised that you'd be sitting on God's lap just now....

Adding another photo.....

Another photo that I found on the web....I'm sure we have all thought of this when we have computer problems! Well, some of us might have....anybody?

Moving right along....

Last weekend I went down to Akron to attend my new daughter's wedding shower....I got confused with the directions to the parents' house as I talked to my son and I read the notes sent from my new daughter....I had to circle around a bit in a couple of places but I finally found it!! 1 and a half hours there and 45 minutes back....There were about a dozen people there including myself, Jennifer, and Jennifer's mom, Linda....We had a light luncheon then party games....I had quite a few laughs!!!! Having a party is a great way to celebrate such an enormous future event!!! Jennifer, the future bride was very greatful and amazed at the gifts received!!! The greatest gift she could give me is a smile and she's not the least bit shy about them!!!!
