A very important quote!!!!.........

I happened to come across this quote about M.L.King....."Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter." I keep wanting to get involved in social action.....There are things that I have suffered at the hands of mean people and I want these things changed.....So that not only is for my well being but so that others are freed from similiar circumstances....Often I have found it easier to withdraw but in my heart of hearts I feel I must be heard....My voice to give voice to the suffering of others....Isn't it all about giving back???

I did it again!!!!......

I wrote a poem Tuesday as I was at our JAVA ZONE....I used material from what I had written last Thursday.....Took it to my Writers' Group and got a lot of great comments....also a couple of suggestions.....none of which I have decided to use....and that's my privilage.....I am trying to figure out how to post it here...but I can't figure it out....I'm not really game to type the whole thing out again....So no one will be seeing it here today....sorry.....

Well Rewarded.....

Today on the way home from an appointment I stopped at my favorite resting place in a park that I'm soooo fond of.....My main purpose was to sit there and write for an hour as I wrote down as a personal scheduled writing time at my Writers' Group Wednesday eve....I would glance up from time to time to be able to write about my surroundings so that I could reach my writing goals.....Several times I wondered if I'd see my favorite bird while I was there.....and sure enough!!!!! I saw BLEU!!!!! My dear Blue Heron friend.....He was flying down the river valley just a few feet above the the surface of the water and then right in front of me....BEAUTIFUL!!!!! This picture is one I got off the web.....and shows a bit of what I've been talking about in regards to my infatuation with the blue heron....WOW!!!!!!!

My Cuddly Critter......

So here she is!!!! My sweet lovable creature that not only has me wrapped around her little paw but around both paws!!!! She is 10 years old and I've been blessed with her company for nine. I got here at the local Animal Protective League. I highly recommend that whoever is seeking a critter pal to seek out one at an animal shelter. Plus have your pet spayed or nuetered. [Thank you Bob Barker!]

Getting Started

Sooooooo.....I now begin!!! Life can get a little crazy!!! I picked my blog name after my favorite wild bird and the fact that seeing them fly [therefore rising] is the most beautiful thing I've seen in the world of wildlife.....
